About the festival
The Terry Larrazabal Bike Festival (TLBF), which started in 2002, is the only cycling event of its kind in the Philippines and Asia,
where there are races and activities for all four (4) cycling disciplines, conducted in one weekend, in one location. And for 2011, a new discipline has been added: cyclocross. The festival is a celebration of bicycling as sports, health and environmental advocacy avenue that’s held yearly and since its inception, has been a medium to promote cyclo-tourism in the Philippines.
But the festival is not only about fun and games. The festival, being undertaken by the Emeterio Larrazabal Foundation Inc., also embarks on community projects in the city of Ormoc and the province of Leyte. To date, the foundation has already conducted
several medical and dental missions, together with the assistance of the association of barangay captains in the city. So while promoting a healthy lifestyle during the TLBF, the foundation also tries to continue the mission to embark on projects that help and touch the lives of those who need help and assistance every cause must have a reason. For the past years the Terry Larrazabal Bike Festival has been in honor of a man who has lived in an unobtrusive way.
